Gambino’s Bread Pudding

Ingredients
  

  • 1 24" loaf Gambino’s French bread
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 apple or other suitable fruit shaved
  • 6 eggs well beaten
  • 2 quarts milk
  • 1 5oz can evaporated milk
  • butter
  • Whiskey Sauce

Instructions
 

  • Mix sugar and eggs, add milk, vanilla and apple.
  • Pour mixture into large baking dish.
  • Cut bread into 2" slices and butter well in both sides.
  • Press flat side down into mixture in the baking dish and soak piece thoroughly.
  • Bake at 375° until golden brown.
  • Garnish with a spoonful of whiskey sauce.
